Open Water Checkout Dives

The open water checkout dives are completed in the open water - like a lake or ocean. We do our dives in a safe and fun group environment at Gulliver's Lake, where we built our very own underwater 20×20 training platform.  

During the open water checkout dives, your instructor will demonstrate, practice, and test you on the skills learned in Steps 1 & 2: the Open Water Referral course. Once you have successfully completed four dives, you will officially be an Open Water Diver. How exciting is that?!

Course Details:

Sunday - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (Dives 3 & 4)

Dive Site: Gulliver (Flamborough) Lake (Bloom Resorts - 792 Safari Rd, Millgrove ON, L0R 1V0)

Prerequisite: Must have completed open water dives 1 & 2

Includes:

• Instructor training
• Virtual divers log and training record for open water checkout dives
• Equipment rentals (2 tanks, regulator, BCD, weights - except mask/fins/snorkel for open water checkout dives - this is an additional $50 rental fee)
• 1x FREE Monday Evening Pool entry at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool

NOTE: There is a $50 fee for less than 1 weeks’ notice of rescheduling or cancelling your course.

Additional Information

• Open Water Checkout Dives run from the beginning of June - end of September, annually
• Open Water Checkout Dives are also available on our international trip
• You must complete your Open Water Checkout Dives within 1 year of starting the E-Learning
• Gear rentals can be picked up on the Thursday or Friday before your chosen weekend and returned Monday or Tuesday afterwards 
• You will need to arrange your own transportation
• There is a $12 admission fee to be paid per person (cash & card) in the resort office upon arrival on Saturday
