Cayo Largo, considered the island jewel in the Los Canarreos Archipelago, is known for it beautiful beaches, but also offers 32 unspoiled diving sites within 10-20 minutes of shore. Caves, grottos and drop offs all welcome the diver to this underwater destination, as well as hundreds of different corals and sponges. Nearby, there are more than 200 sunken ships dating from the 16th and 18th centuries--according to the legend, some of Henry Morgan's treasure is still buried in the area. You could also be diving with Whale Sharks, Mantas, and other large creatures of the sea, so be sure to keep your eyes open in these crystal clear waters!
