The Tank Banger: Seems to make a barely hearable sound under water--Wouldn't notice it if you weren't listening for it. I have a steel tank-- would it work better on aluminum? Is there a specific spot to put it? Tom H.

I've used one on an AL80 and it worked fine, no experience with a steel tank. My biggest problem was remember to put it on the tank (or switch to next tank).
I've since moved to a "quacker" as it's always on my BC. Though I do find that I really have to give it a couple of good quacks to get most other divers attention.
