Dive operators in Cozumel?
« on: November 07, 2006, 08:54:13 AM »

I'm planning a trip to Cozumel in January 07.  Does anybody have any experience with dive operators on the island?  Any recommendations as to the best dive spots?

I just got back from Cozumel last Friday.  We stayed at the Reef Club.   It was an OK resort.  Sand Dollar Sports runs a dive shop right on the property.  I thought it was pretty reasonable @ $60 us for 2 tanks dives (2 single tank dives).  If you need equipment the rental is $15 us for BCD and Reg.  There equipment wasn't top of the line but it was adequate.  As for dive sites, Palancar reef, San Francisco reef and wall, Paso del Cedro reef and wall all offer fantastic drift diving.  They were all within 10 minutes of The Reef Club by boat.
If you end up there say hi to the entertainment staff (Carlos, Johnny, Jessica, Jessie and Christian) They will make your time above the water lots of fun too.

Brian

P.S.  If you book all your dives at the same time you might be able to get them cheaper.
